Community Guidelines

Last updated: April 25, 2026

HodieLive is a tool for organizations to produce live video. We rely on the people running each event — the Admin and Director roles — to set the tone for what gets streamed. These Community Guidelines explain what is not permitted on HodieLive, how to report violations, and how we enforce them.

1. Content That Is Not Allowed

The following content is prohibited on HodieLive:

  • Illegal content, including content that violates intellectual property, privacy, or other laws
  • Sexual content, nudity, or content of a sexually explicit nature
  • Content depicting minors in sexual, exploitative, or otherwise harmful contexts
  • Content that promotes violence, self-harm, terrorism, or organized crime
  • Harassment, hate speech, or content targeting individuals or groups on the basis of protected characteristics
  • Spam, fraud, deceptive content, or impersonation
  • Content that infringes third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, publicity, or privacy rights
  • Content used to dox, stalk, or threaten individuals

2. Organization Admins Are Moderators

HodieLive is organization-bounded by default. Each event has an Admin who controls who can broadcast, who can view, and which streams are recorded or made publicly viewable. Admins can:

  • Remove a Broadcaster mid-stream
  • End a stream at any time
  • Delete recordings and highlight clips
  • Revoke access for any member of their organization

Admins are responsible for the content their organization streams. By operating an organization on HodieLive, the Admin agrees to enforce these Guidelines for their members and viewers.

3. Public Streams (Fan Pages)

If an event Admin enables the optional Fan Page feature, the program output stream becomes publicly viewable on the web. Public streams must comply with these Guidelines at all times. Public streams that violate these Guidelines may be suspended without notice.

4. Streaming Events Involving Minors

HodieLive is commonly used to stream youth sports, school events, and other gatherings involving children. Organizations that stream events involving minors are responsible for obtaining all required parental and venue consents. Streaming a minor without appropriate consent is a violation of these Guidelines and, depending on jurisdiction, may also be a violation of law.

5. How to Report a Violation

If you encounter content on HodieLive that you believe violates these Guidelines, please report it to us at:

Email: support@hodielive.com

Subject line: "Community Guidelines report"

Please include in your report:

  • A description of the content or behavior
  • The event name, stream URL, or organization (if known)
  • The date and approximate time
  • Screenshots, links, or other evidence (if available)
  • Your relationship to the event (viewer, participant, third party)

If you believe there is an immediate risk to safety (such as a credible threat of violence or ongoing harm), please contact local emergency services first, then notify us.

6. How We Respond

We review all reports from a real person within 1–3 business days. Critical issues — sexual content involving minors, credible threats of violence, or ongoing harassment — are prioritized for immediate response.

Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, we may take any of the following actions:

  • Issue a warning to the responsible Admin or user
  • Suspend or remove the offending stream or recording
  • Suspend or terminate the responsible user account
  • Suspend or terminate the entire organization
  • Cooperate with law enforcement and report illegal content as required by Canadian and applicable foreign law, including reports to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) where appropriate

7. Appeals

If you believe action was taken in error, you may appeal by replying to the moderation notice within 30 days. We will re-review and respond. Decisions in cases involving illegal content are final.

8. Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of HodieLive after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Guidelines.
